Even though the Western Reserve Academy Pioneers scored an imposing 63 points on Tuesday, the Cornerstone Christian Patriots still came out on top. Cornerstone Christian walked away with a 76-63 victory over Western Reserve Academy. The victory made it back-to-back wins for Cornerstone Christian.
Cornerstone Christian was led to victory by Owen Pugh and Quinn Kwasniak. Pugh scored 20 points along with eight assists and seven rebounds, while Kwasniak dropped a double-double on 34 points and 12 rebounds. That makes it eight consecutive games in which Kwasniak has scored at least 25% of Cornerstone Christian's points. The team also got some help courtesy of Asaiah West, who scored ten points along with nine rebounds.
Cornerstone Christian's win bumped their record up to 3-5. As for Western Reserve Academy, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 0-2.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Cornerstone Christian will face off against Medina Christian Academy at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Medina Christian Academy is coming into the game on a three-game losing streak. Western Reserve Academy will get a bit of extra time to process the loss as their next game is a ways off. They'll take on Perkiomen School on January 27th.
