Baseball Recap: Baylor Wins Going Away Against Webb

Baylor had to skate by with only a one-run margin when they last took the field, which might have inspired the nine-run drubbing they dealt Webb on Monday. The Baylor Red Raiders were the clear victor by a 12-3 margin over the Webb Spartans. That nine run margin sets a new team best for the Red Raiders this season.

Matt Dill tossed a big game, not allowing a single earned run and allowed only one hit while striking out six over five innings pitched. What's more, he gave up only zero walks, the fewest he's had since back in May of 2024.

At the plate, Blake Lundy was a standout: he went 2-for-5 with one home run, three RBI, and one double. That's the most RBI he has posted since back in March of 2024. Another player making a difference was Jack Schuman, who went 2-for-5 with one home run and four RBI.

Baylor was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .419. They are a perfect 3-0 when they post a batting average of .375 or better.

Baylor's victory bumped their record up to 4-2. As for Webb, they are on a five-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 1-6.

Baylor will have a chance to go back-to-back against Webb: the pair will be back at it again later today.
