Evansville Bosse hasn't had much luck against Evansville Central recently, but that could start to change on Thursday. The Bulldogs will challenge the Bears at 7:00 p.m. After the two teams made easy work of their previous opponents, one won't be so lucky on Thursday.
Evansville Bosse headed into their last matchup having not scored more than two runs for five straight, but Dugger Union let them put that streak behind them. Evansville Bosse blew past Dugger Union 12-2 last Saturday. The win was a breath of fresh air for Evansville Bosse as it put an end to their five-game losing streak.

Luke Curtis was a major factor while hitting and pitching. He struck out 11 batters over six innings while giving up just one earned (and one unearned) run off two hits (and only one walk). He is becoming a predictor of Evansville Bosse's success: when he posts at least eight strikeouts the team is 3-1 (and 1-11 when he doesn't). Curtis was also big at the plate, going 2-for-4 with three RBI and two runs. That's the most runs he has posted since back in April.
In other batting news, Drew Curtis was a standout: he got on base in all five of his plate appearances with one stolen base, one run, and one RBI. Another player making a difference was Jaxson Klass, who got on base in three of his four plate appearances with two runs, one double, and one RBI.
Evansville Bosse always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .641. That's the best OBP they've posted all season.
Meanwhile, Evansville Central won against Southridge on Saturday with ten runs and they decided to stick to that run total again on Monday. The Bears were the clear victors by a 10-1 margin over Evansville Reitz. The Bears haven't had any issues with the Panthers recently, as the game was their sixth consecutive victory against them.
Evansville Central got a massive performance out of Devon DeJarnette, who got on base in all three of his plate appearances with two stolen bases, two runs, and two RBI. Owen Schoenhals was another key player, going a perfect 3-for-3 with three RBI and one run.
Evansville Bosse's win bumped their record up to 4-12. As for Evansville Central, their victory bumped their record up to 8-17.
Evansville Bosse might still be hurting after the 13-0 loss they got from Evansville Central in their previous matchup back in April. Can the Bulldogs avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
