Machaon Puga Delivers Best Effort of Season
Prospect Ridge Academy was led to victory by Machaon Puga, who turned in his biggest game of the season on Saturday. Puga picked up 85 receiving yards and a touchdown, and also rushed for 130 yards. He torched the secondary when he pulled down a catch that went for 85 yards.
For the year, Puga has averaged 87.7 rushing yards per game. He's made a big improvement compared to last season: at this point last year, he was only averaging 2.43 rushing yards per game.

Forge Christian Wins Seventh-Straight Thanks to Dante Vigil
Forge Christian picked up their seventh consecutive win on Friday thanks in part to Dante Vigil. Vigil turned in nothing short of a gem, making 13 total tackles (2.0 for loss).
Forge Christian's win was their fifth straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 7-0. Vigil and Forge Christian will have some time to savor their victory since their next game is a little ways off: they'll take on Platte Canyon at 7:00 p.m. on October 25th.

Carter Hogsett Sets Career High in Rushing Yards
Platte Canyon came up short on Saturday despite Carter Hogsett delivering his best game to date. Hogsett rushed for 234 yards while picking up 8.1 yards per carry, good enough to set a new career-high in rushing yards in the process. He was no stranger to the big play, turning on the jets for a run that went for 52 yards.
For the year, Hogsett has averaged 17.5 receiving yards per game. That doesn't tell the whole story though: at this point last year, he was only averaging 0.83 rushing yards per game. This year he is averaging 72.5 rushing yards.

Sullivan Strange was instrumental in extending Forge Christian's winning streak to seven on Friday. Strange was unstoppable, throwing for 159 yards and three touchdowns on only 13 passes.
This season, Strange has thrown 18 touchdowns while averaging 163 passing yards per game. He's made a big improvement compared to last season: at this point last year, he had two passing touchdowns.
