The Grand County Red Devils entered their tilt with the North Summit Braves with four consecutive wins but they'll enter their next game with five. Grand County secured a 68-64 W over the Braves on Friday. Having run the score up that high, both teams probably have some extra defensive drills coming up.
Grand County's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Trace York, who scored 20 points along with seven rebounds. The team also got some help courtesy of Jason Mckinney, who scored 22 points along with seven rebounds.
North Summit lost despite a true team effort on the offense, the best among them being Buck Sargent, who dropped a double-double on 19 points and 12 rebounds. Another player making a difference was Trevor Richins, who dropped a double-double on 18 points and ten rebounds.
Grand County has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won ten of their last 11 contests, which provided a massive bump to their 12-9 record this season. As for North Summit, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 13-7.
Grand County will head out on the road to take on the Eagles at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday. The matchup should be an exciting one, as these teams are closely ranked in Utah (Duchesne is ranked 82nd, while the Red Devils are ranked 90th). As for North Summit, they have the luxury of staying home another game and will welcome the Broncos at 2:00 p.m. on February 3rd. Hopefully San Juan focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up ten on Friday.
