The Emery Spartans's game last Saturday was a tough loss, but they didn't let that memory haunt them on Thursday. They walked away with a 50-39 win over Union. That's another feather in the cap for Emery, who also won these teams' last head-to-head.
Katelyn Nielson was her usual excellent self, scoring 20 points along with 9 rebounds. The match was her sixth in a row with at least ten points. The team also got some help courtesy of Saige Curtis, who scored 8 points.
Emery pushed their record up to 5-2 with that win, which was their third straight at home. As for Union, they are on a five-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 1-8.
Emery won't have much time to rest: their next contest is against Beaver at 7:00 p.m. on December 8th. Beaver will be looking to extend their current four-game winning streak. Union is on the road again on December 16th and play against Millard at 10:30 a.m. on December 16th. The matchup should be an exciting one, as these teams are ranked near one another in Utah (Millard is ranked 109th, while Union is ranked 108th).
