The King Lions will head out on the road to face off against the Middleton Tigers at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday. King will be strutting in after a victory while Middleton will be coming in after a loss.
Last Friday, King slipped by Freedom 51-50. The victory made it back-to-back wins for King.
Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead King to victory, but perhaps none more so than Julien Barnett, who dropped a double-double on 17 points and 10 rebounds. That makes it three consecutive games in which Barnett has scored at least 25% of King's points. The team also got some help courtesy of Ian McLargin, who dropped a double-double on 10 points and 10 rebounds.
Meanwhile, Middleton's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Friday after their third straight loss. They fell 39-32 to Chamberlain.
Their wins bumped King to 2-3 and Freedom to 2-1.
Everything came up roses for King against Middleton when the teams last played back in December of 2022 as the team secured a 65-25 victory. The rematch might be a little tougher for King since the squad won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
