The Rise Academy Guardians's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Thursday after their fourth straight loss. They fell just short of Edison by a score of 69-66. Despite running the score up even higher than they did on Wednesday (60), Rise Academy still had to take the loss.
Despite the defeat, Rise Academy had strong showings from Devonte Atkins, who scored 24 points along with seven rebounds and four steals, and Trevonte Atkins, who scored 14 points along with five steals. Atkins scored a full 36.4% of Rise Academy's points, the fourth time in a row he's earned more than a third of the team's points. Another player making a difference was Lewis Mallory, who scored seven points along with nine rebounds.
Rise Academy has not been sharp recently, as they've lost six of their last seven contests, which put a noticeable dent in their 6-6 record this season. As for Edison, their victory bumped their record up to 7-2.
