After a string of five wins, The Clear Creek Wildcats''s good fortune finally ran out on Friday. They suffered a rough 41-20 loss at the hands of Clear Springs. The defeat unfortunately continues a disappointing trend for Clear Creek in their matchups with Clear Springs: they've now lost eight in a row.
Bryson Drake threw for 60 yards and a touchdown on only three passes. Garrett Carleton was his top target, picking up 60 receiving yards and a touchdown.
Leading Clear Springs to victory were Raymond Edwards and Julian Salazar. Edwards rushed for 67 yards and two touchdowns, while Salazar rushed for 55 yards and two touchdowns on only seven carries.
Clear Creek's loss dropped their record down to 6-2. As for Clear Springs, their win was their third straight on the road, which bumped their overall record up to 5-4.
Clear Creek will challenge Dickinson at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Dickinson knows how to get points on the board -- the team has finished with flashy point totals in its past seven matchups -- so hopefully Clear Creek likes a good challenge. As for Clear Springs, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Clear Brook at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Clear Brook will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps Texas Rankings (they are ranked 484th, while Clear Springs is ranked 121st).
