Lakeshore waltzed into their match on Thursday with two straight wins but they left with three. In a tight game that could have gone either way, they made off with a 47-46 victory over Archbishop Hannan. The win was all the more spectacular given Lakeshore's disadvantage in MaxPreps' Louisiana basketball rankings (they are ranked 126th, while the Hawks are ranked 22nd).
Lakeshore got their win on the backs of several key players, but it was Kaden Vial out in front who scored 11 points along with eight rebounds and three steals. Vial hasn't dropped below two steals for five straight games. Caiden Bickham was another key contributor, dropping a double-double on 11 points and 11 rebounds.
Lakeshore has been performing well recently as they've won four of their last five contests, which provided a nice bump to their 18-10 record this season. As for Archbishop Hannan, their loss dropped their record down to 19-7.
Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Lakeshore will face off against the Wolves at 7:30 p.m. on Monday. As for Archbishop Hannan, they will head out on the road to challenge the Wildcats at 6:15 p.m. on Monday.
