Currituck County has gone a perfect 10-0 against Pasquotank County recently and they'll look to pad the win column further on Tuesday. The Knights will head out to take on the Panthers at 5:00 p.m. Currituck County is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 9.6 runs per game this season.
Currituck County barely beat Holmes the last time the pair played, but that sure wasn't the case this time around. The Knights blew past the Aces 10-0 on Friday. The win continues a trend for the Knights in their matchups with the Aces: they've now won three in a row.
Kaydence Hassell made a big impact while hitting and pitching. On the mound, she didn't allow a single earned run over five innings pitched. Hassell was also big at the plate, scoring two runs while going 2-for-3.
In other batting news, Currituck County got a big performance out of Morgan Eisel, who went 1-for-2 with one home run and two RBI. That home run marked the first that Eisel launched this season. Another player making a difference was Kendra Daniels, who scored a run while going 1-for-2.
Currituck County was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .476. They are 7-1 when they post a batting average of .375 or better.
Meanwhile, Friday just wasn't the day for Pasquotank County's offense. They came up short against Manteo on Friday, falling 15-0. The Panthers just can't catch a break and have now endured three losses in a row.
Pasquotank County's defeat dropped their record down to 4-6. As for Currituck County, their record is now 8-6.
Tuesday's game will be a test for both teams' pitchers. Currituck County hasn't had any issues making contact this season, having earned a batting average of .398. However, it's not like Pasquotank County struggles in that department as they've averaged .336. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance.
Currituck County was able to grind out a solid victory over Pasquotank County when the teams last played back in April of 2024, winning 5-0. Do the Knights have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Panthers turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
