The River Ridge Wildcats waltzed into their game Monday with two straight wins but they left with three. The stars were shining brightly for them in a 44-28 win over Dakota. That result was just more of the same for these two, as River Ridge also won the last time the pair played last Tuesday.
River Ridge's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Joe Winter, who scored 12 points. Winter hasn't dropped below two steals for four straight games. The team also got some help courtesy of Ethan Walters, who scored eight points along with five rebounds and five steals.
River Ridge is on a roll lately: they've won seven of their last nine matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 8-4 record this season. As for Dakota, their loss dropped their record down to 6-6.
River Ridge is on the road again on Wednesday and play against Byron at 6:30 p.m. on December 20th. Byron presents a significant challenge as they come into the match much higher ranked than River Ridge in Illinois (Byron is ranked 30th, while River Ridge is ranked 330th). Dakota will get a bit of extra time to process the loss as their next game is a ways off. They'll take on Orangeville at 5:00 p.m. on December 30th.
