You can't lose the game if you win every quarter, and that was precisely the Sonora Raiders's strategy against the Fullerton Indians on Friday. Sonora blew past Fullerton 60-36. Given Sonora's advantage in MaxPreps' California basketball rankings (they are ranked 121st, while Fullerton is ranked 590th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Despite the loss, Fullerton still got an impressive performance from Devin Duran, who scored eight points. The team also got some help courtesy of Baylor Wilks, who scored ten points along with six rebounds.
Sonora has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won 12 of their last 14 matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 19-7 record this season. As for Fullerton, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 10-16.
Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Sonora will challenge Troy at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Fullerton, they will head out on the road to take on La Habra at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. La Habra is coming into the match hot, having won their last 13 games.
