Meadow Heights had lost six straight at home, but on Monday they dropped down to 3-10 to make it seven. They came up short against the Clearwater Fightin' Tigers, falling 19-0. The Panthers were not able to make up for their defeat to the Fightin' Tigers from their previous meeting back in April of 2025.
Meadow Heights saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Maci Long, who went a perfect 1-for-1 with one double.
As for Clearwater, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won 13 of their last 15 contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 18-5 record this season. Considering they have won 15 matchups by more than eight runs this season, Monday's blowout was nothing new.
On Clearwater's side, Abbie Gingrey made a big impact while hitting and pitching. On the mound, she struck out six batters over three innings while giving up no earned runs off four hits (and only one walk). Gingrey has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't given up more than one walk in three consecutive appearances. She was also big at the plate, going 1-for-3 with two runs, one double, and one RBI.
In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Peyton Hurt, who went a perfect 2-for-2 with three runs, one triple, and one stolen base. Another player making a difference was Jordan Patterson, who went a perfect 2-for-2 with two runs, one stolen base, and two RBI.
Looking ahead, Meadow Heights will face off against Scott County Central at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Clearwater, they will be playing at home against Dexter at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday. The Bearcats have struggled to contain batters this season (they've allowed 16 runs per game on average), something the Fightin' Tigers will no doubt try to take advantage of.
