Memphis' loss came despite strong showings from Abel Villa and Braden Bond. Villa scored 11 points along with two steals, while Bond scored five points along with five rebounds and two steals. Villa is on a roll when it comes to steals, as he's now grabbed two or more in the last six games he's played.
The victory makes it two in a row for Clarendon and bumps their season record up to 5-2. As for Memphis, they are on a four-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 7-10.
Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Clarendon will take on Shamrock at 8:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Shamrock will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps Texas Rankings (they are ranked 1569th, while Clarendon is ranked 400th).
