On Friday Gretna take on Campbell at 7:00 PM. Expect the scorekeeper to be kept busy: if their previous games are any indication, Gretna and Campbell will really light up the scoreboard.
Last Friday, Gretna put the finishing touches on their 5th blowout victory of the season. They were fully in charge, breezing past Altavista Combined School 62-0. Junior Jorden Berger and senior Damien Canada were among the main playmakers for Gretna as the former rushed for 85 yards and 2 touchdowns and the latter rushed for 86 yards and 2 touchdowns. Berger was a defensive playmaker as well with a menacing 3 sacks.
After a string of four wins, Campbell's good fortune finally ran out. They came up short against McCluer, falling 42-54.
Gretna's win lifted them to 5-1 while Campbell's loss dropped them down to 4-1. The Gretna defense got after the quarterback against Altavista Combined School to the tune of seven sacks, so Campbell's offensive line better have put in some good practice this past week in preparation for the match.
