Verdigris was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their fifth straight loss dating back to last season. They were five points away from ending the streak, but they lost a 61-56 heartbreaker at the hands of the Inola Longhorns. One positive for the Cardinals, at least, is that this was the most points they've scored all season.

Verdigris' defeat dropped their record down to 0-4. As for Inola, they moved to 1-1 with that win, which also ended their four-game losing streak.

Verdigris and Hilldale will compete for holiday cheer at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Inola has already played their next match, a 66-54 loss against Holland Hall on the 14th.
