Two teams were on the hunt for playoff glory, but only The Rochester Rockets walked away with it. They claimed a resounding 45-3 win over Coal City at home. The win was just business as usual for Rochester, who after 11 games remain undefeated this season.
Henry Buecker went supernova for Rochester, picking up 183 receiving yards and two touchdowns, while also punching in a touchdown on the ground. Bryan Zulauf Jr was another key contributor, throwing for 180 yards and two touchdowns.
Rochester's victory was their 13th straight at home (dating back to last season), which pushed their record up to 11-0. They've been dominating during the matchups in that stretch too, as they've won by an average of 42.38 points. As for Coal City, their defeat ended a four-game streak of away wins and brought them to 8-3.
Rochester will take on Breese Central at 4:00 p.m. on Saturday. Breese Central will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps Illinois Rankings (they are ranked 77th, while Rochester is ranked 13th). Coal City does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
