The Kenton Wildcats lost against the Liberty-Benton Eagles back in January, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Tuesday. Kenton ended up on the wrong side of a tough 70-49 walloping at the hands of Liberty-Benton. The loss unfortunately continues a disappointing trend for Kenton in their matchups with Liberty-Benton: they've now lost seven in a row.
It was another big night for Lauren Gerken, who dropped a double-double on 20 points and 11 rebounds for Liberty-Benton. That makes it four consecutive games in which Gerken has scored at least 25% of Liberty-Benton's points. Corra Dehart was another key contributor, scoring 16 points along with five rebounds.
Kenton's loss dropped their record down to 4-4. As for Liberty-Benton, they pushed their record up to 6-2 with that victory, which was their fourth straight on the road.
Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Kenton will wrap up 2023 with a road trip to face off against Bluffton at 6:00 p.m. on December 28th. As for Liberty-Benton, they will square off against Bellevue at 7:30 p.m. on Saturday.
