Page has gone 9-1 against Window Rock recently and they'll look to pad the win column further on Friday. The Sand Devils will welcome the Fighting Scouts at 11:00 a.m. Page is coming into the matchup hot, having won their last five games.
Page is headed in fresh off scoring the most runs they have all season. They put the hurt on Tuba City with a sharp 19-3 victory on Wednesday. With that win, the Sand Devils brought their scoring average up to 6.2 runs per game.
Kyan Scott made a big impact while hitting and pitching. He looked comfortable on the mound, tossing two innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit. He has been nothing but reliable: he hasn't given up more than one walk in six consecutive appearances. He was also solid in the batter's box, going 1-for-2 with two runs and two RBI. Those two RBI gave him a new career-high.
In other batting news, Page got a massive performance out of Cole Tate, who went a perfect 2-for-2 with three runs, one triple, and two RBI. Kevin Sam was another key player, going 2-for-3 with five RBI, two runs, and two doubles.
Page kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 11 hits. That's a new trend for them: they were averaging 3.7 hits per game earlier this season, but in their last 15 contests they've averaged 10.8.
Meanwhile, Window Rock suffered their closest defeat since March 3rd on Friday. They fell just short of Joseph City by a score of 5-3. The Fighting Scouts have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.
Window Rock saw nine different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was LaDelle Shorty, who went 2-for-3 with one stolen base and one run. Another was Landyn Davis, who got on base in three of his four plate appearances with one stolen base.
Page's victory bumped their record up to 9-5. As for Window Rock, their loss dropped their record down to 4-7.
The pitchers for both teams better look sharp on Friday as neither team is afraid to steal. Page has been swiping bases left and right this season, having averaged 2.9 stolen bases per game. However, it's not like Window Rock struggles in that department as they've been averaging an even more impressive 7.4 stolen bases. The only question left is which team can snag more.
Page beat Window Rock 10-5 when the teams last played back in April of 2025. Will the Sand Devils repeat their success, or do the Fighting Scouts have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
