Softball Recap: Ocosta Has No Trouble Against Naselle

Ocosta's game on Wednesday was a loss, but they didn't let that memory haunt them on Friday. Everything went their way against the Naselle Comets as they made off with an 18-8 victory. Considering the Wildcats have won six contests by more than nine runs this season, Friday's blowout was nothing new.

Joanah Rosander was a major factor no matter where she played. On the mound, she didn't allow a single earned run while striking out seven over five innings pitched. Rosander was also big at the plate, going 2-for-4 with five runs, four RBI, and one stolen base. Those five runs gave her a new career-high.

In other batting news, Ocosta let Sophie Olive and Gabby Ness run wild. Olive went 4-for-5 with five RBI, two doubles, and one stolen base, while Ness got on base in three of her five plate appearances with five RBI, two runs, and one double. Those four hits gave Olive a new career-high. Jolissa Schlegel was another key player, getting on base in three of her five plate appearances with three runs and one RBI.

Ocosta has been performing well recently as they've won five of their last six matches. That's provided a nice bump to their 7-4 record this season. The wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 17.2 runs over those games. As for Naselle, their defeat was their first in the district, dropping their district record down to 5-1 and their overall record down to 8-6.

As of now, neither Ocosta nor the Comets have any future games scheduled.
