The Momence Momence Athletics will be home for the holidays to greet the Illinois Lutheran Chargers at 5:30 p.m. on Thursday. Illinois Lutheran took a loss in their last game and will be looking to turn the tables on Momence, who comes in off a win.
Even though Momence has not done well against Grant Park recently (they were 2-7 in their previous nine matchups), they didn't let the past get in their way on Monday. Everything went Momence's way against Grant Park as Momence made off with a 48-24 win.
Among those leading the charge was Sydnee Vanswol, who scored 17 points. The team also got some help courtesy of Avery Rosenbohm, who scored nine points.
Meanwhile, Illinois Lutheran's recent rough patch got a bit rougher last Monday after their fourth straight loss. They took a 50-38 hit to the loss column at the hands of Donovan/St. Anne.
Momence's victory was their third straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 6-6. As for Illinois Lutheran, their loss dropped their record down to 2-7.
Momence didn't have too much breathing room in their matchup against Illinois Lutheran when the teams last played back in January, but they still walked away with a 22-18 win. Will Momence repeat their success, or does Illinois Lutheran have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
