The Lakeside Rams had already won two in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 10.5 points), and they went ahead and made it three on Friday. They came out on top against Hot Springs by a score of 60-51. Given Lakeside's advantage in MaxPreps' Arkansas basketball rankings (they are ranked 49th, while Hot Springs is ranked 178th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Lakeside got their victory on the backs of several key players, but it was Ava Allison out in front who scored 17 points. Those 17 points set a new season-high mark for her. The team also got some help courtesy of Amelia Rogers, who scored 14 points along with seven rebounds and five assists.
Lakeside now has a winning record of 5-4. As for Hot Springs, they are on a six-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 3-6.
Lakeside will be home for the holidays to greet Arkadelphia at 6:00 p.m. on Monday. As for Hot Springs, they will head out on the road to face off against Watson Chapel on Tuesday. Watson Chapel will be looking to extend their current four-game winning streak.
