After flying high against the Kingdom Prep Academy Warriors on Saturday, the Quanah Indians came back down to earth. Quanah took a 42-35 hit to the loss column at the hands of Childress on Tuesday. The loss unfortunately continues a disappointing trend for Quanah in their matchups with Childress: they've now lost seven in a row.
Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Childress to victory, but perhaps none more so than Alicia Salinas, who scored eight points. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Salinas has scored all season. The team also got some help courtesy of Sophie Stephens, who scored eight points along with five rebounds.
Quanah bumped their record down to 8-12 with that loss, which was their third straight at home. Those losses could be blamed on the team's offensive performance across that stretch, as they only averaged 29.3 points per game. As for Childress, the win (which was their fourth in a row) raised their record to 10-15.
Quanah will be playing in front of their home fans against Memphis at 6:00 a.m. on Friday. Memphis will be looking to extend their current three-game winning streak. As for Childress, they will head out on the road to face off against Idalou at 3:30 p.m. on Friday. Idalou presents a significant challenge as they come into the match much higher ranked than Childress in Texas (Idalou is ranked 35th, while Childress is ranked 543rd).
