It was a good run, but The Enfield Eagles unfortunately witnessed the end of their four-game winning streak on Friday. They took a 27-20 hit to the loss column at the hands of Berlin. Enfield lost against Berlin in their previous head to head back in October of 2021, too, but the margin this time around was much closer than the 66-27 score last time.
Despite the loss, Enfield still got an impressive performance from Zach Bonini, who rushed for 89 yards and a touchdown, and also threw for 43 yards and a touchdown.
Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Berlin to victory, but perhaps none more so than Kyle Melville, who picked up 94 receiving yards and two touchdowns. The team also got some help courtesy of Toby Lavender, who gained 147 total yards and a touchdown.
Enfield's defeat dropped their record down to 4-1. As for Berlin, their win was their third straight at home, bumping their overall record up to 5-1.
Enfield will take on Windsor at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Berlin, they will head out on the road to face off against Manchester at 6:00 p.m. on Friday.
