McDowell is on a three-game streak of home wins, while T.C. Roberson is on a three-game streak of away wins: one of those streaks is about to end. The McDowell Titans will take on the T.C. Roberson Rams at 8:00 p.m. on Friday. Both teams come into the match bolstered by wins in their previous matches.
Last Tuesday, even if it wasn't a dominant performance, McDowell beat A.C. Reynolds 54-49.
Rylan Parkins continued his habit of posting crazy stat lines, scoring 20 points. Roby Franklin was another key contributor, scoring nine points.
Meanwhile, T.C. Roberson beat Erwin 58-49 on Wednesday. Given T.C. Roberson's advantage in MaxPreps' North Carolina basketball rankings (they are ranked 225th, while Erwin is ranked 482nd), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
T.C. Roberson's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Jacob McGraw led the charge by dropping a double-double on 19 points and 12 rebounds. Another player making a difference was Max McDowell, who scored 18 points along with seven steals.
McDowell's victory bumped their record up to 14-2. As for T.C. Roberson, they are on a roll lately: they've won five of their last six matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 9-7 record this season.
Some high-performance offense is likely on the agenda as the two teams are some of the highest scoring teams in the league. McDowell hasn't had any problem running up the score this season, having averaged 69.3 points per game. However, it's not like T.C. Roberson struggles in that department as they've been averaging 57 points per game. With both teams so easily able to put up points, the only question left is who can run the score up higher.
McDowell didn't have too much breathing room in their matchup against T.C. Roberson in their previous matchup on January 3rd, but they still walked away with a 62-57 win. Will McDowell repeat their success, or does T.C. Roberson have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
