Tennessee School for the Deaf are packing up and hiking across state lines for their game on Saturday. They hope to keep the momentum going despite having enjoyed some extra time before their next match against Mississippi School for the Deaf at Played at Smith Wills Stadium (Homecoming) at 7:00 PM. Expect the scorekeeper to be kept busy: if their previous games are any indication, Tennessee School for the Deaf and Mississippi School for the Deaf will really light up the scoreboard.
Tennessee School for the Deaf had to travel to play their first game of the season, and the final result was worth the trip. They were fully in charge three weeks ago, breezing past South Carolina School for the Deaf & Blind 58-22. The matchup was all but wrapped up at the end of the third, by which point Tennessee School for the Deaf had established a 46-22 advantage.
Meanwhile, Mississippi School for the Deaf had to kick off their season on the road two weeks ago, but they showed no ill effects. Everything went their way against Georgia School for the Deaf as they made off with a 58-24 win.
Their wins lifted both teams to an identical 1-0. With both Mississippi School for the Deaf and Tennessee School for the Deaf swaggering in after impressive performances, it will be interesting to see which team steps up to teach the other some humility.
