The Reeltown Rebels's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Tuesday after their fourth straight loss dating back to last season. They took a 31-23 hit to the loss column at the hands of LaFayette. Reeltown was given a dose of their own medicine in this game as LaFayette apparently hadn't forgotten their defeat the last time these teams played back in January of 2023.
Despite the loss, Reeltown saw an underclassman step up: London O'Neal scored nine points along with nine rebounds and six blocks. O'Neal scored a full 39.1% of Reeltown's points, the third time in a row she's earned more than a third of the team's points. Chizyiah Riley was another key contributor, scoring four points along with 11 rebounds.
Reeltown's defeat dropped their record down to 0-3. As for LaFayette, their win bumped their record up to 3-8.
Reeltown will head out on the road to face off against Lanett at 5:00 p.m. on Friday. The timing is sure in Lanett's favor as the team sits on four straight wins at home while Reeltown has been banged up by four consecutive losses on the road dating back to last season. LaFayette will take on Valley at 6:00 p.m. on Friday.
