The Laughlin Cougars suffered their biggest defeat yet this season on Friday. They took a serious blow against Lake Mead Academy, falling 59-20. If Laughlin hoped to take revenge for the 47-16 defeat against they when the teams met, then they were left disappointed.
Despite the loss, Laughlin still got an impressive performance from Daishanae Jackson, who scored 16 points. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Jackson has scored all season.
Laughlin bumped their record down to 4-8 with that defeat, which was their third straight on the road. That rough patch could be blamed on the team's offensive performance across that stretch, as they only averaged 18.3 points per game. As for Lake Mead Academy, the win makes it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 6-3.
Laughlin will be playing at home against Indian Springs at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Indian Springs will be looking to extend their current seven-game winning streak. As for Lake Mead Academy, they will head out on the road to take on American Heritage Academy at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday.
