The Perry Central Commodores's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Thursday after their sixth straight loss. Their rough 55-30 defeat to Orleans might stick with them for a while. While losing is never fun, Perry Central can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Indiana basketball rankings (they are ranked 312th, while Orleans is ranked 69th).
Orleans' success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Mylie Knight led the charge by scoring ten points along with nine steals and seven assists. The match was Knight's third in a row with at least ten points. The team also got some help courtesy of Chelsea Ralph, who scored 15 points.
Perry Central has been struggling recently, as they've lost seven of their last eight games, which put a noticeable dent in their 3-9 record this season. As for Orleans, the victory (which was their fourth in a row) raised their record to 11-1.
Perry Central will be home for the holidays to greet Tell City at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday. Hopefully Tell City focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 11 on Thursday. Orleans will have some time to savor their win since their next game is a little ways off: they'll take on New Washington at 11:00 a.m. on December 28th.
