The Immanuel Christian Crusaders will venture away from home to take on the Rosamond Roadrunners at 3:15 p.m. on Wednesday. Immanuel Christian is coming into the matchup hot, having won their last five games.
Immanuel Christian came out on top against Trona on Tuesday thanks in part to the team's impressive four-run sixth inning. The Crusaders walked away with a 6-1 victory over the Tornadoes.
Abigail Barham was a major factor no matter where she played. She looked comfortable on the mound, not allowing a single earned run and allowing only two hits while striking out 12 over seven innings pitched. She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't given up a single earned run in four consecutive appearances. She was also big at the plate, going 2-for-3 with two doubles, two RBI, and one run. That's the most doubles she has posted since back in March of 2024.
In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Holly Cosner, who went 2-for-3 with one triple, one run, and one double.
Meanwhile, Rosamond gave up the first runs last Friday, but they didn't let that get them down. They came out on top against Desert by a score of 14-9.
Alexis Rico was a standout: she went 2-for-5 with two stolen bases, three runs, and one double. Alysia Rico was another key player, going 1-for-4 with two stolen bases, two runs, and one double.
Immanuel Christian's win was their third straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 15-4. The road victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.7 runs on average over those games. As for Rosamond, they are on a roll lately: they've won four of their last five contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 9-10 record this season.
Rosamond's pitching crew has a crucial task ahead of them: Immanuel Christian has been making plenty of contact this season, having averaged 9.6 hits per game. It's a different story for Rosamond, though, as they've been averaging 9.6 hits. Given Immanuel Christian's sizable advantage in that area, the Roadrunners will need to find a way to close that gap.
Immanuel Christian suffered a grim 14-4 defeat to Rosamond in their previous matchup back in March of 2022. Can the Crusaders avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
