South Loup is a perfect 3-0 against Ravenna since September of 2016 and they'll have a chance to extend that dominance on Friday. South Loup will be playing at home against Ravenna at 7:00 p.m. Expect the scorekeeper to be kept busy: if their previous games are any indication, these teams will really light up the scoreboard.
South Loup is headed into the contest out to prove that what happened against Pleasanton on Thursday (when they were outscored in every quarter) was just a minor bump in the road. South Loup lost 58-36 to Pleasanton. South Loup gained 109 more yards on the day, but it was Pleasanton that made the best use of them.

South Loup might have lost, but man, Conner Paulsen was a machine: he rushed for 275 yards and three TDs while picking up 8.1 yards per carry. With that strong performance, Paulsen is now averaging an impressive 103.6 rushing yards per game. Crew Witthuhn was another key player, rushing for 63 yards and one score on only five carries.
Meanwhile, Ravenna put another one in the bag on Friday to keep their perfect season alive. They really took it to Arcadia/Loup City for the full four quarters, racking up a 52-8 win. The Bluejays pushed the score to 44-8 by the end of the third, a deficit the Rebels had no chance of recovering from.
South Loup better focus on containing Kobe Chamberlin and Trenton Wedemeyer as the pair were huge in Ravenna's win. Chamberlin rushed for 177 yards and three touchdowns while picking up 9.8 yards per carry, while Wedemeyer rushed for 122 yards and a pair of TDs while picking up 7.2 yards per carry.
Ravenna didn't go easy on the quarterback and picked off two passes before the game was over. The picks came courtesy of Tyce Coufal and Wedemeyer.
South Loup's defeat was their fourth straight on the road dating back to last season, which dropped their record down to 2-4. As for Ravenna, their victory bumped their record up to 6-0.
Friday's game might be decided on the ground. South Loup has been unstoppable on the ground this season, having averaged 219.7 rushing yards per game. However, it's not like Ravenna struggles in that department as they've been averaging 307.8 rushing yards. There's a good chance Friday's matchup turns into a tough fight on the ground.
South Loup didn't have too much breathing room in their contest against Ravenna in their previous matchup back in October of 2024, but they still walked away with a 34-28 win. Does South Loup have another victory up their sleeve, or will Ravenna turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
