Sadly, the San Jon Coyotes are still looking for their first win of the season after ten matches. They were dealt a 76-16 defeat at the hands of Grady on Saturday. The defeat unfortunately continues a disappointing trend for San Jon in their matchups with Grady: they've now lost eight in a row.
Despite the loss, San Jon saw an underclassman step up: Truitt Sallee scored 14 points along with two steals. It was the first time this season that Sallee grabbed two or more steals.
San Jon dropped their record down to 0-10 with that loss, which was their third straight on the road. Those losses could be blamed on the team's offensive performance across that stretch, as they only averaged 10.7 points per game. As for Grady, the victory got them back to even at 8-8.
Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. San Jon will take on Non Varsity Opponent at 7:00 p.m. on Monday. San Jon comes in on a streak of failing to score more than 24 points in their last ten games, a trend the team is of course eager to reverse. As for Grady, they will be playing at home against Floyd at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Grady has been getting the ball to fall more lately as they've increased their point totals each of their last three games.
