Ferris (Spokane, Wash.) had its advantage, which at one point stood at 14 points, drop to eight before the final whistle blew on a 14-6 victory over
Southridge (Kennewick, Wash.).
After taking the lead on a
Cole Karstetter touchdown run in the first quarter, the Saxons led 7-0 at the half.
Ferris expanded its lead to eight points entering the fourth quarter. FHS's lone score in the quarter came on a passing touchdown.
Karstetter played well for the Spokane school in the victory. The junior wide receiver ran for one touchdown. He has now scored five touchdowns on the season.
The Suns' lone touchdown came on a 6-yard run in the third quarter.
Coming into the game the Saxons had allowed 18.3 points per game this year.
