What a wild night in the CIF Sac-Joaquin Division high school football playoffs. A total of four number No. 1 seeds fell.

In Division VII Denair, the defending Division 7-AA state champions, lost to Mariposa County 17-14. Mariposa County won on late field goal to win a section title.

In Division III Capital Christian was stunned by Manteca 20-14. Capital Christian beat Placer in 2018 to win the Division III title. It will be Manteca and Placer in 2019.

In Division IV Rio Linda, another defending state champion, was upset by Sierra. Sierra, Oakdale, and Manteca are all left from the Valley Oak League.

The biggest upset of the night was in Division I. Monterey Trail shocked Folsom at home. The Mustangs scored 14 in the 1st and 4th quarters to pull off the 35-23 win.
