Baseball Recap: Parkdale Turns Things Around After Road Loss

There's no place like home for Parkdale, who bounced back after a loss on the road on Wednesday. They blew past the Bladensburg Mustangs 12-2 on Friday. The Panthers might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won seven games by seven runs or more this season.

Parkdale let Jose Cruz and Jovanny Vazquez run wild. Cruz got on base in all four of his plate appearances with three stolen bases, four runs, and one double, while Vazquez got on base in three of his four plate appearances with three runs, one triple, and one stolen base. Cruz is becoming a predictor of Parkdale's success: when he posts at least two runs the team is undefeated (and 3-5 when he doesn't). Ewan Stark was another key player, going 2-for-4 with three RBI, one triple, and one run.

Parkdale always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .529. They are a perfect 7-0 when they post an OBP of .513 or better.

Parkdale's win ended a three-game drought at home and bumped them up to 10-5. As for Bladensburg, they are on a 33-game losing streak (dating back to last season) that has dropped them down to 0-8.
