In what's become a running theme this season, the Escambia County Blue Devils gave their fans yet another huge victory on Tuesday. They simply couldn't be stopped as they easily beat T.R. Miller 63-33 at home. Given Escambia County's advantage in MaxPreps' Alabama basketball rankings (they are ranked 158th, while T.R. Miller is ranked 317th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Escambia County found their leader in underclassman Cleo Bolar jr., who scored 20 points along with eight rebounds and five assists. That's the first time this season that Bolar jr. pulled down eight or more rebounds. The team also got some help courtesy of Stephen Williams, who dropped a double-double on 13 points and 12 rebounds.
Escambia County is on a roll lately: they've won six of their last eight contests, which provided a nice bump to their 12-7 record this season. As for T.R. Miller, their loss dropped their record down to 8-11.
Escambia County will head out on the road to face off against Jackson at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Jackson will be looking to extend their current nine-game winning streak. As for T.R. Miller, T.R. Miller and W.S. Neal will face off at 7:30 p.m. on January 25th without much rest after finishing up games yesterday. W.S. Neal is coming into the game on a three-game losing streak.
