Hot Springs has won three straight games at home, while Lakeside has won three straight on the road, but those streaks won't matter much on Friday. The Trojans will challenge the Rams at 7:00 p.m. One thing working in Hot Springs' favor is that they have posted at least 31 points in their last five contests.
For whatever reason, it's the away team that's had the advantage when Hot Springs and Camden Fairview meet (three straight games heading into this one) and that held true again on Friday. The Trojans were the clear victors by a 42-21 margin over the Cardinals. The Trojans might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won six matchups by 21 points or more this season.

Sedrick Allen produced another solid effort rushing for 90 yards and two TDs on only ten carries, while also throwing for 165 yards and three touchdowns. Allen is crushing it when it comes to passing touchdowns: he's passed for at least three every time he's taken the field this season. Hot Springs' leading receiver Gabriel / Gabe Jaime was Allen's top target yet again, picking up 99 receiving yards and one score.
On the other side of the ball, a lot of the credit has to go to Hot Springs' defense and their four sacks. That dominant display was truly a team effort as four different players picked up one apiece. Jveon Johnson was another major factor on D, picking up a sack and making 11 total tackles (3.0 for loss).
Meanwhile, Lakeside faced Parkview in a battle between two of the state's top teams on Friday. The Rams fell just short of the Patriots by a score of 24-22. The Rams' loss signaled the end of their five-game winning streak.
Hot Springs will have to contain Peter Ohman as he made an impact in Lakeside's last game. He rushed for 106 yards and one touchdown, and also picked up 37 receiving yards and one TD. Wally Wolcott was another key player, throwing for 174 yards and a pair of touchdowns.
Hot Springs' victory bumped their record up to 8-1. As for Lakeside, their defeat was their first in the conference, dropping their conference record down to 5-1 and their overall record down to 7-2.
The upcoming game will be a clash of competing strengths. Hot Springs has relied on air attacks this season and has averaged 299.8 passing yards per game. Lakeside, on the other hand, has relied on a stout run game: they average 165.4 rushing yards per game. So which strategy will prevail on Friday? There's only one way to find out.
Hot Springs was taken down by Lakeside 42-0 when the teams last played back in November of 2024. Thankfully for the Trojans, Grady Ohman (who rushed for 257 yards and three scores while picking up 9.5 yards per carry) won't be suiting up this time. Will that be enough to change the final result? There's only one way to find out.
