There's no place like home for the South Lake Eagles, who bounced back after a tough loss on the road on Monday. They walked away with a 65-52 victory over Foundation Academy on Tuesday. For South Lake, this counts as revenge for the 67-36 loss Foundation Academy walked away with the last time they faced one another back in January.
Leading South Lake to victory were kevens charles and Isaiah Pina. charles dropped a double-double on 19 points and 12 rebounds, while Pina dropped a double-double on 28 points and 19 rebounds. That makes it two consecutive games in which charles has scored at least 25% of South Lake's points. Another player making a difference was Braden White, who scored 9 points.
Despite the loss, Foundation Academy still got an impressive performance from Cameron Basden, who dropped a double-double on 15 points and 13 rebounds. Basden is absolutely dominating the rebound category: he's posted at least eight every time he's taken the court this season. Riley Michels was another key contributor, scoring 13 points.
The win got South Lake back to even at 1-1. As for Foundation Academy, they now have a losing record at 1-2.
Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. South Lake will take on Mount Dora at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. As for Foundation Academy, they will look to defend their home court on Thursday against Forest Lake Academy at 7:30 p.m. Forest Lake Academy and Foundation Academy are at an even 3-3 over their past six head-to-heads.
