Warren hasn't had much luck against Orangefield recently, but that could start to change on Tuesday. The Warriors will be playing in front of their home fans against the Bobcats at 7:00 p.m. Both come into the game bolstered by wins in their previous matches.
Warren saw some tournament action on Friday. They had just enough and edged out Port Arthur Memorial 4-2. The win continues a trend for the Warriors in their matchups with the Titans: they've now won four in a row.
Warren secured the victory behind a pair of hitters. One of them was Phillip Mashaw, who went 1-for-2 with one double. Another was Hunter King, who got on base in two of his three plate appearances with one stolen base and one run.
Meanwhile, Orangefield earned a 5-1 win over Edgewood on Saturday.
Kaleb Menard was a major factor no matter where he played. On the mound, he didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only one hit over four innings pitched. He has been consistent recently: he hasn't given up more than one hit in three consecutive appearances. He was also stellar in the batter's box, going 1-for-2 with one home run and three RBI. That's the most RBI he has posted since back in April of 2025.
In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Logan Anderson, who went a perfect 3-for-3 with one stolen base and one run. Kaysen Click was another key player, going 2-for-3 with one stolen base and one RBI.
Orangefield hit smart and finished the game with only one strikeout. The team has now struck out at least four batters in four consecutive matchups.
Orangefield's victory bumped their record up to 10-4. As for Warren, their win bumped their record up to 4-7-1.
The batters for both teams will have to hit smart on Tuesday as both have some strikeout artists on the roster. Warren has been retiring batters left and right this season, having averaged 7.2 strikeouts per game. However, it's not like Orangefield struggles in that department as they've been averaging 7.9 strikeouts. Considering how easily both teams rack up Ks, the hitters on both teams better bring their A-game into this one.
Warren suffered a grim 12-3 defeat to Orangefield in their previous matchup back in March of 2025. Can the Warriors avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
