They really took it to West Aurora for the full four quarters, racking up a 82-44 victory at home. Waubonsie Valley's offense stepped up their game for this one, as that was the most points they've scored all season.
Leading Waubonsie Valley to victory were Hannah Laub and Danyella Mporokoso. Laub scored 19 points along with five steals and three blocks, while Mporokoso scored 30 points. Mporokoso continues to roll, besting her previous point total in each of the last three games she's played. Maya Pereda was another key contributor, scoring 11 points.
Waubonsie Valley's win was their tenth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 21-2. They've been dominating during the contests in that stretch too, as they've won by an average of 31.3 points. As for West Aurora, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 9-13.
Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Waubonsie Valley and Aurora Central Catholic will face off at 7:00 p.m. on January 23rd without much rest after finishing up games yesterday. One thing working in Aurora Central Catholic's favor is that they have posted big point totals in their last eight contests. As for West Aurora, they will look to defend their home court on Tuesday against Plainfield South at 6:30 p.m. Hopefully Plainfield South focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 19 last Thursday.
