Andres Hernandez made a big impact no matter where he played. He didn't allow a single earned run over four innings pitched. He also tossed no earned runs, which is notable because Monsignor Pace is 2-1 when he allows at most one earned run, but 3-5 otherwise. Hernandez was also big at the plate, going 2-for-4 with two RBI. That's the most hits he has posted since back in April of 2025.
In other batting news, Giovanni Padron and Jacob Reyes did most of the damage at the plate: Padron went 3-for-5 with two runs, one stolen base, and one RBI, while Reyes went 2-for-3 with two doubles and two RBI. Those two doubles gave Reyes a new career-high. Joshua Poletto was another key player, going 2-for-5 with two runs, one stolen base, and one double.
Monsignor Pace was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .441. That's the best batting average they've posted all season.
Meanwhile, it was a proper cat-fight when Brito duked it out with Killian on Wednesday. The Panthers took a 6-2 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Cougars. The defeat continues a trend for the Panthers in their meetings with the Cougars: they've now lost three in a row.
Brito saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Raivon Pinder, who went 2-for-4 with two stolen bases and one double. Pinder has been hot recently, having posted at least one stolen base the last three times he's played.
Monsignor Pace's win bumped their record up to 5-6. As for Brito, their loss dropped their record down to 5-7.
The pitchers for both teams better look sharp on Monday as neither team is afraid to steal. Monsignor Pace has been swiping bases left and right this season, having averaged 3.3 stolen bases per game. However, it's not like Brito struggles in that department as they've been averaging 2.8 stolen bases. The only question left is which team can snag more.
Monsignor Pace beat Brito 9-6 when the teams last played back in February of 2025. Do the Spartans have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Panthers turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
