The St. John the Baptist Cougars were the 49-38 winner over the St. Anthony's Friars when they last played one another two weeks ago, but their luck changed this time around. St. John the Baptist fell just short of St. Anthony's by a score of 54-51.
St. Anthony's found their leader in underclassman Kevin Moore, who scored 15 points along with seven rebounds and five assists. Connor Mannix was another key contributor, scoring 11 points.
St. John the Baptist's defeat ended a seven-game streak of wins at home dating back to last season and dropped them to 3-2. As for St. Anthony's, their win was their fourth straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 12-6.
Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. St. John the Baptist has the luxury of staying home another game and will welcome Kellenberg Memorial at 6:00 p.m. on February 16th. St. Anthony's will take on St. Dominic at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Hopefully St. Anthony's focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up ten on Tuesday.
