Basketball Recap: Pamlico Christian Academy Picks Up Fourth Straight Win on the Road

Pamlico Christian Academy had won three straight road games and Dannielle Palagyi did her part to make it four on Monday. The Pamlico Christian Academy Mariners enjoyed a cozy 39-20 victory over the Bethel Christian Academy Trojans thanks in part to Palagyi, who almost dropped a double-double on 18 points and nine boards. She has been hot recently, having also posted two or more steals the last four times she's played.

Another player making a difference was Lily Mathews, who posted four points in addition to seven assists and seven steals. She is becoming a predictor of Pamlico Christian Academy's success: when she posts at least five steals the team is 9-4 (and 1-2 when she doesn't).

Pamlico Christian Academy has been performing well recently as they've won four of their last five matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 10-6 record this season. As for Bethel Christian Academy, they are on a ten-game losing streak (dating back to last season) that has dropped them down to 0-9.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Pamlico Christian Academy will take on Bethel Assembly Christian Academy in a holiday battle at at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. As for Bethel Christian Academy, they will have a little extra prep time after the defeat as they won't be playing again for a while. They'll take on Wilmington Christian Academy at 5:30 p.m. on January 7, 2025.
