Elverado/Zeigler-Royalton lost despite a true team effort on the offense, the best among them being Ashlyn Stayton, who dropped a double-double on ten points and 13 rebounds. The team also got some help courtesy of Shelby Grove, who scored four points along with nine rebounds and three steals.
Lauren Wedemeyer had a dynamite game for Steeleville, scoring 19 points. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Wedemeyer has scored all season. Rylan Reiss was another key contributor, almost dropping a double-double on 11 points and nine rebounds.
Elverado/Zeigler-Royalton has traveled a rocky road recently having lost 16 of their last 19 contests, which put a noticeable dent in their 5-23 record this season. As for Steeleville, the win (which was their fourth in a row) raised their record to 12-13.
