Marshfield and Eau Claire North are an even 3-3 against one another since April of 2019, but likely not for long. The Tigers will welcome the Huskies at 5:00 p.m. on Friday. Marshfield is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 7.8 runs per game this season.
Marshfield's pitching crew heads into the game hoping to repeat the dominance they displayed on Tuesday. Everything went their way against Wisconsin Rapids Lincoln as they made off with a 9-0 win. The result was nothing new for the Tigers, who have now won eight contests by six runs or more so far this season.
Not much got past Molly Fox, who gave up just six hits and racked up eight Ks to keep Wisconsin Rapids Lincoln off the board. Fox has been nothing but reliable on the mound: she hasn't given up more than one earned run in five consecutive appearances.
On the hitting side, Marshfield got a massive performance out of Lillian Griesbach, who went 2-for-4 with one home run and five RBI. The team also got some help courtesy of Madilynn Cole, who went 2-for-4 with two runs, one triple, and one double.
They weren't the only ones making solid contact: Marshfield kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 14 hits. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now got at least nine hits in five consecutive matchups.
Meanwhile, Eau Claire North unfortunately witnessed the end of their four-game winning streak on Thursday. They fell just short of Rice Lake by a score of 4-2. Having soared to a lofty 13 runs in the game before, the Huskies couldn't push the score so high this time.
Marshfield pushed their record up to 11-5 with the victory, which was their fourth straight on the road. The road wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.0 runs on average over those games. As for Eau Claire North, their loss dropped their record down to 7-6.
Marshfield beat Eau Claire North 4-0 in their previous meeting back in May of 2025. Will the Tigers repeat their success, or do the Huskies have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
