Meanwhile, Pendleton Heights put another one in the bag on Friday to keep their perfect season alive. They blew past Lawrence North 11-1. Considering the Arabians have won six games by more than six runs this season, Friday's blowout was nothing new.
Pendleton Heights also let their pitcher toss all six innings played and he was also dialed-in: Brayden Stevenson gave up only one earned run on two hits and racked up 12 Ks.
On the hitting side, Mazon Saxon was excellent, going 2-for-4 with two RBI, one run, and one double. That's the most hits he has posted since back in April of 2024. Jordan Williamson was another key player, going a perfect 3-for-3 with two runs.
Pendleton Heights always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .579. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Lawrence North only posted an OBP of .308.
Pendleton Heights' win was their sixth straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 10-0. The home victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 12.0 runs over those games. As for Mt. Vernon, their defeat dropped their record down to 4-4.
