The Ardmore Tigers fell victim to the Russellville Golden Tigers''s stalwart defense on Friday and couldn't make it onto the board. They were outmatched by the Golden Tigers on the road and fell 56-0. Ardmore has struggled against Russellville recently, as their game on Friday was their eighth consecutive lost matchup.
Leading Russellville to victory were Harrison Burch and Cameron Phinizee. Burch threw for 213 yards and four touchdowns on only 15 passes, while Phinizee rushed for 159 yards and three touchdowns on only seven carries. Phinizee is on a roll when it comes to rushing yards, as he's now rushed for 100 or more in the last eight games he's played. Cash Crumpton did his part to keep the secondary busy, picking up 115 receiving yards and a touchdown.
Ardmore's defeat dropped their record down to 1-7. As for Russellville, their win was their fifth straight at home (dating back to last season), bumping their overall record up to 7-1.
Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Ardmore will take on Fayetteville at 5:50 p.m. on Monday. Fayetteville will be looking to extend their current three-game winning streak. As for Russellville, they will be playing at home against Fairview at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Fairview will be coming into the contest with an undefeated record on the line.
