Baseball Recap: Make It Six in a Row for Dade Christian

Dade Christian entered their tilt with Brito on Friday with five consecutive wins , and they'll enter their next game with six. They blew past the Brito Panthers 13-2. Considering the Warriors have won six matches by more than five runs this season, Friday's blowout was nothing new.

Alexander Mendoza Jr made a big impact while hitting and pitching. He looked comfortable on the mound, pitching four innings while giving up just one earned (and one unearned) run off six hits. That's the fewest earned runs he has allowed since back in February. He was also big at the plate, going 1-for-3 with one stolen base and one RBI.

In other batting news, Ylurey Melfor was incredible, scoring three runs and stealing a base while going 4-for-4. He is becoming a predictor of Dade Christian's success: when he posts at least two runs the team is undefeated (and 3-7 when he doesn't). Another player making a difference was Juan Rivera Jr, who got on base in all four of his plate appearances with three RBI.

Dade Christian kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 15 hits. That's the most hits they've posted since back in March of 2024.

Dade Christian's win was their fifth straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 9-7. Those victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 10.8 runs over those games. As for Brito, their loss dropped their record down to 5-7.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Dade Christian will head out to challenge McArthur at 6:30 p.m. on Monday. Dade Christian is facing McArthur at the right time seeing as McArthur is stuck on a four-game losing streak. As for Brito, they will venture away from home to face off against True North Classical Academy at 3:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Brito has given up an average of 6.8 runs per game this season, so hopefully the team got some pitching drills in this week.
