Heritage is 0-9 against the Golden Eagles since January of 2015 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Tuesday. The Heritage Eagles will head out on the road to square off against the Mountain Vista Golden Eagles at 5:30 p.m. Heritage has now lost ten straight, and the team is hunting for their first win since December 19.
Heritage struggled with offensive rebounds on Friday (the Raiders had 20 more) and sadly the final score reflected it. Heritage had to suffer through a rough 79-27 loss at the hands of the Raiders. While losing is never fun, Heritage can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Colorado basketball rankings (they are ranked 164th, while the Raiders are ranked eighth).
The loss doesn't tell the whole story though, as several players had good games. One of the most active was Avalon Lux-offermann, who scored eight points along with five rebounds. Grace Hankins was another key contributor, scoring six points.
Meanwhile, Mountain Vista was fully in charge on Monday, breezing past the Wolves 75-47 on the road. The score at the end of the third wound up being the final score as Mountain Vista just coasted through the last quarter.
Kennedy Spellman continued her habit of posting crazy stat lines, going 6 for 10 from beyond the arc en route to 30 points and 6 assists. As a matter of fact, that's the most points she has scored all season. Another player making a difference was Grace Roscoe, who dropped a double-double on 19 points and 12 rebounds.
Heritage dropped their record down to 4-15 with that defeat, which was their fifth straight at home. As for Mountain Vista, their win bumped their record up to 7-11.
Heritage couldn't quite finish off the Golden Eagles in their previous matchup back in February of 2023 and fell 34-31. Can Heritage avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
